The mirrors network
पेरोट संग्रह में सॉफ्टवेयर डेब पैकेज के रूप में दिया जाता है, और इन पैकेजों को मिरर सर्वर के एक विशाल नेटवर्क के माध्यम से परोसा जाता है जो तेजी से सॉफ्टवेयर वितरण के लिए दुनिया भर में वितरित पैकेजों का एक ही सेट प्रदान करता है।
केंद्रीय पेरोट संग्रह निदेशकों का उपयोग करने के लिए पेरोट प्रणाली को कॉन्फ़िगर किया गया है। पेरोट निदेशक विशेष सर्वर होते हैं जो अंतिम उपयोगकर्ताओं के सभी अनुरोधों को एकत्र करते हैं और उन्हें अनुरोध करने वाले उपयोगकर्ता के लिए उपलब्ध भौगोलिक दृष्टि से निकटतम डाउनलोड सर्वर पर पुनर्निर्देशित करते हैं।

सुरक्षा उपाय
पेरोट मिरर नेटवर्क केंद्रीकृत डिजिटल हस्ताक्षरों द्वारा सुरक्षित है और दर्पण नकली अपडेट को इंजेक्ट नहीं कर सकते हैं।
यदि कोई दुष्ट दर्पण नकली पैकेज को इंजेक्ट करने का प्रयास करता है, तो पेरोट सिस्टम स्वचालित रूप से इसे डाउनलोड और इंस्टॉल करने से मना कर देगा, और एक अलर्ट संदेश उठाएगा।
एपीटी (पेरोट/डेबियन पैकेज मैनेजर) में लागू किया गया यह सुरक्षा उपाय बहुत ही कुशल और विश्वसनीय है क्योंकि डिजिटल हस्ताक्षर को पेरोट संग्रह अनुरक्षक द्वारा ऑफ़लाइन लागू किया जाता है, न कि दर्पण सर्वर द्वारा, विश्वास की प्रत्यक्ष और सुरक्षित डेवलपर-से-उपयोगकर्ता श्रृंखला सुनिश्चित करने के लिए।
Configuration and custom setup
APT पैकेज मैनेजर /etc/apt/sources.list और /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ निर्देशिका में पाई जाने वाली किसी भी .list फ़ाइल का उपयोग करता है।
